ACAM Community Meeting – Midterm Meeting 2018 at GKN Sinter Metals Engineering GmbH

The 2^nd ACAM midterm meeting took place on March 21, 2018 at GKN Sinter Metals Engineering GmbH in Radevormwald, one of the ACAM members.

Among the presentation of the current activities of the ACAM and the preliminary report of the seven ongoing R&D Consortial Projects, the participants discussed in detail the R&D Roadmap for the coming years. Based on this, first ideas for the consortial ACAM projects in 2019 were gathered. Simulation, Automatization, AM Integration in Process Chains, Quality and Standardization were some of the topics of interest. In addition, Simon Höges, director Additive Manufacturing of Sinter Metals Engineering GmbH, presented the current activities into additive manufacturing and offered a shop floor visit.

During the event we also had the opportunity to introduce the new ACAM members to our community: Georgsmarienhütte Holding GmbH, Hitachi Metals Ltd. and Stratasys GmbH.
