The ACAM team would like to thank all members and research partners who participated on site or digitally at our Semiannual Meeting this week. A huge thank you also to the team at Kurtz Ersa for inviting us to their premises in Kreuzwertheim to host the event.
There, we were able to gain insights into the far-reaching history of the company. In the old forge of the Kurtz Ersa HAMMERMUSEUM, we had the chance to see a water-powered iron hammer in action. During tours through the production facilities, we obtained an impression of today’s building of particle foam and foundry machines. The highlight for us was of course the additive manufacturing area, where we could take a close look at the 3D metal printing machines Alpha 140 and Flying Ray.
During the second day, our research partners presented the interim reports with updates on the ongoing projects. In a community workshop, participants exchanged views on future AM topics and brainstormed activities and challenges in the view of different AM user stories.
It was great to meet you all personally and we will see each other again in October at our Annual Meeting back in Aachen.
