9. April 2019

At this year’s semiannual meeting of the ACAM Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing, around 70 research and industry leaders from the field of Additive Manufacturing came together. On February 20, 2019, ACAM members learned about the latest AM developments from Aachen in an industrial 3D printing environment at Oerlikon AM.

At Oerlikon AM in Feldkirchen, Bavaria, ACAM managing directors Dr. Kristian Arntz and Prof. Dr. Johannes Henrich Schleifenbaum welcomed the participants to the 3rd Semiannual meeting of the ACAM community. They presented to the ACAM members the latest developments in Additive Manufacturing on the RWTH Aachen Campus and introduced three new industrial members to the circle of the already 34 members strong community: BeAM Machines, Danfoss S/A and Indus Group.

Diversified topics complement the meeting’s agenda

One of the highlights of the meeting was the introduction of the AM Knowledge Base – an information platform offered in cooperation with KEX AG. ACAM members will have access to an extensive set of AM-related information, news, patent analysis and industrial applications. Dr. Blanka Szost, Head of R&D Centre of Competence, gave insights into the advantages and challenges of AM alongside the research activities and services at Oerlikon AM. Her technical team provided a tour through the Technology & Innovation Center and engaged in conversations with guests from industry and academia.

The semiannual meeting is one of the ACAM community meetings and takes place once a year. The meeting promotes the exchange of industry members and R&D experts and offers them the opportunity to collect and discuss project ideas for future joint R&D projects.

Thank you very much!

We, the ACAM team, are delighted about the numerous participants and the interesting meeting. We greatly appreciate Oerlikon AM as host and supporter of the event and thank them for an excellent networking environment.
